Code of Conduct

The University maintains smooth discipline in order to regulate its system acutely. Rules and Regulations are mandatory to let all the stakeholders (students, faculty and staff) work freely in the campus. In order to streamline demeanor, activities and co-curriculum, students are required to follow the Rules and Regulations mentioned below:-

  1. Students are not allowed to bring guests in the premises of the University.
  2. University ID cards are mandatory to be worn by the students during the University timings
  3. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the University premises.
  4. Gender mix up is allowed only within the acceptable social, cultural and religious norms.
  5. Gender harassment will not be tolerated. Any student involved in such practice will be strictly dealt under rules.
  6. Trash must be thrown in the bins kept at designated places
  7. Students are advised to refrain from damaging the campus, its infrastructure or lab equipment including the furniture / fixtures etc. They must not write or carve anything on walls, furniture or equipment. They also must refrain from writing any abusive language anywhere in and around the campus.
  8. Displaying and distribution of partisan and political pamphlets or circulars etc. in the college/department and hostels premises are not allowed
  9. No political activities shall be allowed. The student(s) must contact the management individually in case of any social or personal issue.
  10. No harsh or threatening attitude / language is allowed against fellow students, faculty, administrative and support staff, etc.
  11. Mobile phones or similar gadgets shall not be allowed in classrooms Examination halls, labs, library or other similar academic excursions.

Classroom Conduct

All students are supposed to arrive in their classes in time and behave in an appropriate manner during class, laboratory sessions, field visits, and examination / assessment exercises etc. USA expects its students to meet the highest ethical, moral and academic standards. The academic standards prohibit the following:

  1. Concealing notes during examinations/tests/quizzes for cheating purpose.
  2. Collusions between students in examinations/tests/ quizzes.
  3. Copying the work of another student either with or without that student’s knowledge during an examination /test/quiz or during/outside of class for the purpose of an assigned task.
  4. Plagiarism: The definition for plagiarism includes copying of any kind without giving credit to the source of the information, i.e. representing other’s work or ideas as one’s own.
  5. Unauthorized cooperation on individually assigned work.
  6. Other acts of academic dishonesty, for example, electronic device for cheating purpose during an examination / test /quiz / practical examination etc. and students will not bring mobile phone in the examination halls.
  7. Students responsible for indulging in practices stated above or any other act of indiscipline on campus shall be severely punished in accordance with the policies and procedures laid out for the purpose.
  8. The University Discipline Committee shall proceed on these matters and necessary action(s) shall be undertaken in due course.

Leave Policy

  1. Leave (even on medical grounds) shall not be counted toward attendance in class. Even approved leave shall be considered / counted as an absence from class. Students shall be still responsible for maintaining minimum attendance requirement in each course during a semester
  2. Due to the fact that leave shall not change the actual attendance percentage, however it shall be requested and approved in order to avoid imposition of fine and / or to prevent the student from being suspended / dropped from the course / University rolls instantly.
  3. A written application for leave shall be turned in to the office of the Department Chair. After approval by the Instructor (in case it is for three consecutive days) and with recommendation / otherwise remarks by the Instructor (in case it is for more than three days), shall be sent to the Department Chair for approval / further action.
  4. Leave shall be requested in advance except for valid medical reasons or exceptional circumstances beyond control of an individual. However, it shall be subject to approval by the Department Chair (if the leave period exceeds three days).
  5. Leave shall not be approved for the period covering the Mid-Semester (Mid Term) Examination or the End of Semester (Final Term) examination. For a Medical Emergency (valid documentary evidence is required), the leave shall be approved by the Vice Chancellor
  6. Any concession / compensation (for example, repeating of exam / test /quiz, class / lab / field work, etc.) of leave shall not be considered and/or given in the instructional or assessment exercises of the course work in any manner and/or on any ground whatsoever, except for valid medical emergency or urgent official engagement (authentic documentary evidence required) unless it is approved by the Department Chair.
  7. If a student remains absent from a class/lecture without prior leave application shall be charged with a fine @ Rs. 200/- per lecture/tutorial/practical etc. Such absentees shall be recorded by each department and sent to the Registrar office on monthly basis.

Dress Code

The students and staff of the University are required to dress-up neatly keeping the social and cultural values intact. The dress should not be inscribed with images or writing at all. No tights, sleeveless shirts, see through dresses or shorts are allowed. Dress Code violation may result in confiscation of admission rights.


Dress pants and formal jeans are allowed. Shalwar Qameez is allowed only on Friday. Patchy, tattered and shabby looking jeans and collar-less shirts and loose chappals are not allowed.


Shalwar Qameez with Dopatta or Scarf or long shirts with trousers should be worn.
